It’s been too long. We aplogize for the pain we have caused; the heartache and distress of missing so dear a friend as the Ruy Lopez show. Hopefully we can ease your pain briefly with a new show.

I think it was a great show. I believe Jay when he says he didn’t leave the message from Vladivostok: it sounded a bit too good to be a Jay imitation.
However, having spent considerable time in Russia, I’m skeptical that the message is authentic. Since my Russian is terrible (people would wince and ask to be allowed to practice their English) I have considerable experience listening to Russians trying English and that was more painful than anything I have ever listened to. I played it for Karen the Librarian too (who spent a year in Russia teaching English) and she concurs: The Vladivostok call for “The chess goodness” is as authentic as Peary’s claim on the North Pole. On of the big hints was his Russsian thank you “spasiba”, which he oddly pronounced “spatziba”.
Anyway, great show guys. I, for one, am happy to have the chess goodness back.
